In the existing landscape, the data was transferred from database to the application layer and calculations were performed in the application layer. This resulted in significant latency due to high disk I/O.
GESG Solutions proposed and implemented the SAP HANA sidecar approach by using a parallel architecture with an SAP in-memory database instance kept in sync using SLT. Heavy BI queries and reporting would now occur from the sidecar instance and pre-processed calculations transferred to the application layer reducing latency and increasing time to market strategies.
